The third book of the Devices of War Trilogy was a great book. Fantastic story line and ending. The characters stayed true to themselves. However, I do feel the ending was a little rushed. There were a lot of unanswered questions. Maybe this was done on purpose though to set up another book in the future.I would recommend people to buy all 3 books. It was a fantastic story and one I won't forget soon.

This series was well thought out. The evolution of the characters felt very natural. The political intrigue was top notch. The places and creatures introduced made you wish to see them for yourself.
I bet this would make a great book club read. There is so much to talk about.
This is a fantastic series and Whispers of the Skyborne holds up to high standard set by its predecessors. It's not easy to write about a hidden societal conspiracy in s way that doesn't look "off" but SM Blooding had done an excellent job of it. This book's twist and turns are executed perfectly and yet, bottom line, this is pure fun to read. Highly recommended - but you really need to start at book 1 in this series to get the full impact.
An amazing ending to an exceptional trilogy (with seeds planting that could sprout into future additions in this universe). Synn has grown so much in this series, from boy to young man and finally to man and leader. But it did not come without changes and loss. This book takes us to new areas of this very well developed world and includes some AMAZING battle sequences. Frankie has led a (not always so) merry chase through the trilogy, and has left me (for one) wanting more....

The great families lost their powers, but doesn't mean they aren't still trying, after most of the sky families are killed, Synn creates the League of Cities. He Takes many people in and hides with his new airships. There starts book 3 in my opinion the best book!! Still fighting his mother and other tribes under her influence. they find out about the Skyborne, who seems to be the biggest enemy.
When they arrive on the island they felt safe to steal an important product, Will Synn and all others be able to beat them and pick up the pieces ans build a safe world for themselves? find out for yourself! Get the books, I advise to start with book 1 then you are able to follow the threads through this book.
Strong characters, nice reading pace, thrilling, book! look forwards to more books of Frankie!

Whispers of the Skyborn is the third book in The Devices of War trilogy. Throughout this series the main threat to Synn and his friends appeared to Nix and the Hands of Tarot. In book two, Synn created The League of Cities tearing down the main power of The Great Families and Nix. Whispers of Skyborn begins with Nix now in custody and the main powerhouses torn down. However, the real enemy has finally revealed themselves. The Skyborn. Can The League of Cities defeat The Skyborn and reclaim what has been taken from them? I guess you'll have to read and find out.
Overall I found this series interesting. It was a little hard for me to get into the first book, but as the series progressed each book got progressively better. Of the three, Whispers of the Skyborn was my favorite. The world the author has developed is well thought out. The people consist of different tribes, some who live on land, some who live on and in the sea, and some who live in the sky. By book three tribes of all types come together to form the League of Cities. If you enjoy science fiction, this series is definitely one you want to check out.

I was pulled into Synn's world with The Fall of Sky City, laughed, cried, and grew with him as the Knight of Wands, then watched him come to grips with his position in the world in Whispers of the Skyborne. I hope Synn gets his peace now!
